Family First for Over Seven Decades

Our people are what makes Kern Glass & Aluminum Company the company it is. From the original founders to Gene Hulse, Ken De Sherlia and, Nick and Brenda Heath, to the current president Adam Cline, the family atmosphere is the connective tissue that has allowed us to flourish for so many years. Below are just a few of our people’s stories: the Pride of Kern Glass & Aluminum Company.

Adam Cline

President

My career at Kern Glass started the way many of us did- sweeping up in the shop in the summer of 1993. In the 27 years since then, I have worked my way up through different aspects of the company from fabrication and installation to senior management. I truly enjoy working with our team to help develop trade skills and I believe that this hands on approach has fueled the growth of our company. When I reflect on the many projects over the years, I always think about the Ventura Memorial Hospital project. This was a complicated and difficult job that took us 4 years to complete; but it taught us a lot about our trade and workmanship.

Dominic Cerri

General Manager

Dominic has been an integral part of the Kern Glass team for nearly a decade. As an engineer and now our general manager, he enjoys working side by side with our employees to provide high quality service to our customers.

Stephen Boyd

Sr. Project Manager

Stephen has been a key member of the Kern Glass family for 25 years and he attributes part of the success in his career with having the opportunity to learn new things every day. Reflecting on the projects he’s worked on, he notes that the company’s work in Portola and Santa Barbara green building projects are his favorites.

Sheila Scott

Administrator

An essential part of our admin team, Sheila has been with the company for 13 years. She says that she truly enjoys her “work family” and loves seeing the progress of Kern Glass as an organization. She notes that the growth of our green building initiatives is particularly rewarding, as she loves spending time at home with her dogs and she is proud to be a part of a team that helps improve peoples’ homes.

Alfred Villegas

Estimator

Alfred has been with the Kern Glass team for just over a year and he takes great pride in seeing the finished product. He notes that his favorite project, to date, has been the Mountain View Apartments in Lamont, calling them his “first labor of love with Kern Glass”.

“It was quite the adventure, getting this one done, especially with the pandemic creating problems for suppliers, “ he recalls. “ We supplied doors, frames and hardware on all the units as well as the community building, plus all the mouldings, interior doors and cabinets. It was a huge job for us but we are so pleased with how it turned out.”

KC

Service Manager

An essential part of our service team, K.C. has been with the company for 5 years. He enjoys exceeding customer expectations, especially in residential work by installing custom shower enclosures and new retrofit windows.
